Thanks so much to Canadian Cowboy Country!!
I love horse shoes, clinic the shape is appealing to me, medical the application – fascinating. I have a friend who was a farrier & I enjoyed tagging along watching him work. When I started creating jewelry, I figured the horse shoe was a all encompassing symbol of all horse people. Doesn’t matter if you’re an English rider, a rodeo girl or a trail riding mama, the horse is what ties us all together.
Appreciating others riding disciplines is what makes a true horse lover. I enjoy watching a kid trotting for the first time as much as watching my sister-in-law’s jumper do his thing at a Grand Prix at Spruce Meadows.
I have sprinkled horse shoes liberally throughout my work. I have small horse shoe cut-outs on the back of pieces, the Lucky Seven rings & bracelets have been a favorite, as they got me featured in Cowboys & Indians magazine. I haven’t done a lot of post earrings, so as I was building a family ring last week, this idea came to me. These ones I just popped in a couple CZ’s, but it could be any birthstone or color.
I’m going to do a giveaway of a pair of these earrings with any birthstone you wish to a lucky follower on my Facebook page. I’ll give these babies away when we get 100 followers, so share the page with friends & you’ll have a good chance of finding these in the mail!
