Adventure Time – Blog-o-Shphere

This month the blogging group I’m in posed the question, advice   “Describe an adventure you hope/want to experience in your lifetime.”

Well I’ve come to realize that my world is pretty small,  content maybe.  I don’t have a lot of big adventures that I’m dreaming about.  I’m so bogged down in the day to day of it all, that I can’t even think that far ahead……but what if there is no ‘far ahead’?  I could get hit by a bus tomorrow.

So with the bus hurtling towards me,  I think I have a few adventures that I’d like to go on with different people.  So if I could give you a top 3,  it would be:

1.  Ireland – I’d love to go back to Ireland with my Mum so we could do some serious genealogy work.  My Grandmothers Father died before she was born.  Her mother was left on her own with 5 girls & her in-laws didn’t want a lot to do with her as they were worried they’d be saddled with all these kids.  So we don’t know much about that side of the family.  Michael McNally is apparently quite a common name in Ireland (who knew? 😉 ),  so it isn’t easy doing online research.  I’d like to be there,  see the gravestones,  stand in front of the houses.

2. Kentucky Derby – I would LOVE to go to the Derby with my husband.  We both love racehorses & I think it would be the most amazing experience just to be there and soak it all in.  My sister-in-law and I both want to go and do the whole big hat thing,  so that will be its own adventure unto itself!

3. Australia – EVERYONE in my family has been there, some for a visit,  some to live/work – except me!  My family has welcomed many Aussies into our home as ‘pay-back’ for my brothers when they lived in Australia for a year.  They’ve been wonderful,  had many adventures & become family.  One such lady moved to Canada & has been here for 3 years,  in a couple days,  she’s moving back home.  She’s become family & we’re sad to see her go;  but it gives me incentive to get a trip organized/dreamt up,  so we can experience Australia the same way she took all of Canada in.  I envy her, as she experienced and traveled more of Canada than I ever have.

I’ve never been super courageous, so no surprise I don’t have a big dream board filled with my next adventure.  I have a few ‘bucket list’ type things I’d like to experience.  I am truly content with where I am and who I’m with,  so any adventures would be gravy.

So what is this new “blog-o-Sphere” thing?
A friend formed a group of friends who blog  [She titled it the ” Blog-o-sphere think tank” Group.] ; from all different areas of life, to do a ‘once a month’ ‘blog circle’, or ‘blog carnival’ type thing, if you will. Anyway, we get together once a month, and all write about the same topic, and hopefully we all post at the same time, on the 20th of each month.  Everyone has a different ideas; so you might learn something, or open your eyes to new ideas . In any case, it’s fun!!!  I hope you’ll visit all the blogs and have a read!

I look forward, very much for #3 coming to fruition Shelagh!! My family, is your family, is my family!!! My happy place would be to see you all back home and going on one of dad’s famous ‘Hammo’s Sunday Family Drives’!! 🙂

If you came in November too, you could experience the Melbourne Cup horse race….’the race that stops the nation’, where it’s fun to dress up all la-di-da & pull out the big hats and fascinators!
